Changing A Sprocket On A Ninja ZX-10

Working on sportbikes

I decided to tackle the installation of brand new high performance red X ring E.K. chain and Renthal sprockets. A stock steel sprocket for the front, and a harden processed
aluminum stock teeth sprocket for the rear. A perfect combo for my 07, Special Edition ZX-10. During the install we noticed right away the difference between the Renthal frt sprkt compared to stock. What i really like about the stock sprkt, its design! Intergrated hardened Teflon guide for smooth operation between transition and noise damping. But the new renthal sprkt is 25% lighter and that
translate to a higher transfer of power to the rear wheel.:) A considerable difference. The installation only took an hour 1/2 with the attention to detail. Dan says; he has never seen anyone so anal retentive during the install process.
Its all about paying attention to detail and doing the job right! We got a good laugh out of it, good times are hanging out w/ your buddies, a six pack, turning wrenches,
and discussing the next ride. Take notice that you purchase the bible for your make n model and follow the basic specific instructions when it comes to Torque Specs when reassembling the sprockets/ rear wheel axle. A must for our industry of sport riding, high performance technology that demand no compromise. Stay tuned, next week as i discuss S.O.P on alignment of rear wheel and chain, as well the importance of the assembly of a new drive chain.
Ninjabob, out!
